Hearing Care Beyond Limits
A full-service hearing health app offering seamless management of every step in your hearing health journey.
My role: Product Designer (2023-2024)
An 18-month project with a team of two senior designers and a junior I had the chance to mentor.
What kind of product is it?
My first time designing in healthcare. The client is one of the world's leading hearing care companies. The app lets users manage device profiles, book online and offline appointments, and run a hearing test — among other things.
What are the main feature?
The primary function of the app is to control hearing aids.
Besides that, users highly value the ability to schedule online and offline appointments. An in-app video call feature enables specialists to adjust the hearing device settings remotely.
The app also includes a hearing test function.
I also led work on the user guide — building it out and keeping it updated. Since the company operates under different brands in various markets, there are versions of the application and the user guide with alternate branding.
How did you support multiple brands?
Maintaining such multi-brand compatibility requires a flexible design system and consideration of how the application will appear in different color schemes.
It was challenging to consider and comply with all the rules and regulations for European healthcare products.
Creating a user guide of over 100 pages was a new experience for me, and maintaining multiple versions for different brands was a significant challenge.
The primary audience was elderly users — which shaped every decision about touch targets, contrast, copy pacing, and error states.
